Adit Raja showcased resilience and skill in the group stage of the BSAM Malabar Hill Club State Ranking Tournament ’24, clinching two nail-biting deciders against Rushabh Jain and Sumer Mago in Group J.
Epic Showdown with Rushabh Jain:
In a marathon 4.5-hour battle, Adit edged past Rushabh Jain in a black-ball decider. The match was packed with drama, with momentum swinging back and forth. In a heart-stopping climax, a black-ball miss by Jain paved the way for Raja to calmly sink a challenging black in the center pocket, marking a winning start to his campaign.
Taking Down a top Contender:
Later, Adit faced off against the formidable Sumer Mago, the current 6-Red State Rank 2, in another gripping encounter. Leading 2-1, Adit saw his lead evaporate as Mago leveled the match at 2-2. However, in the final frame, Adit regained control with a composed performance, sealing the victory 3-2.
Reflecting on his victories, Adit shared:
“These tables are highly reactive, making the game more dynamic and effortless. I’m glad my cue ball control has allowed me to execute good safety play and capitalize on scoring opportunities when it mattered most.”
With two crucial wins under his belt, Adit is well-poised in the 15-Red challenge.
