Dadar Club’s Vimal Thakkar was seen showing glimpses of his young days in the Matunga Gymkhana presents MG 6 Red Open Snooker Tournament 2023 as he outshined Sanket Dalvi in his first round encounter.
This veteran who has shared the baize with former World Amateur Snooker Champion Late Shri Om B Agrawal, former World Billiards Champion and Double Asian Games Gold Medalist Ashok Shandilya and many more champions of yesteryears was seen in free flowing form.
Starting the match rather on a rusty note, Thakkar survived a close first frame on the black ball but to wrap up the match 3-0 was a treat to watch.
Blanking Dalvi one sided in the next two frames, the quick paced cueist showed that age is just a number and he still has a few more tricks left with him.
Enjoying the 3-0 victory, Vimal now sets course to clash Park Club Marker Rohit Mohite and hopes to continue his fast flowing form.
