Khar Gymkhana’s Tathya Sachdev cruised into the Top 8 of the ongoing MG 6 Red Open Snooker Shootout with a commanding 4-1 victory over Sumit Naidu.
Sachdev was in complete control early on, racing to a 3-0 lead with dominant play. However, an unfortunate in-off in the fourth frame handed Naidu a lifeline. Seizing the opportunity, Naidu cleared from brown to black to register his only frame of the match.
Any hopes of a comeback were short-lived as Sachdev, the reigning Western India Junior Snooker Champion, stamped his authority in the fifth frame with a break of 21, sealing the match in style. Naidu, who had been in fine form in previous rounds, struggled to find his rhythm this time.
Sachdev now awaits the winner of the Om Sawant vs. Abhishek Soparkar clash in his quest for a semifinal spot.
