In what will be remembered as one of the most sensational turnarounds at the CCI Billiards Classic 2025, Rayaan Razmi stunned spectators with a jaw-dropping comeback win over a solidly playing Raja in a Group stage match destined for highlight reels.
The game seemed all but over when, with just 35 minutes left, Rayaan found himself trailing by a staggering 302 points. His opponent, Raja, had played a near-perfect session, racking up a fine break of 288 and holding complete control over the match.
What followed was an incredible display of skill, composure, and belief. Rayaan launched into a relentless break, inching closer and closer, refusing to give in. When he reached 100, he still needed over 200 points—a mountain few would dare to climb. But climb he did.
Rayaan had narrowed the gap and eventually reached 280, keeping everyone at the edge of their seats. This effort went on to turn into a massive 318 which earned him marginal 20 point lead and eventually the victory was achieved as Razmi raced against time.
The match, played to the end of the allotted time rather than a fixed score, means Rayaan now qualifies from the group, carrying momentum and confidence into the knockouts.
