In Conversation with the Maestro
What’s your inspiration?
“I’ve grown up watching legends like Subhash Agrawal, Devendra Joshi, and Ashok Shandilya—they made the game look so easy! And then there’s Mike Russell, the ultimate legend of our era. His iconic floating white is pure magic. If I want to play top-table billiards, I want to emulate his finesse. Even getting close to what Russell achieves feels like a win for me. I call it PURE!”
Thoughts on your opponent?
“Manan is a dangerous player. He struck the ball well, and being on his home table, I had to stay sharp. The short format of 150 works to my advantage, and once I found my zone, it all felt effortless. It helps when you play on such a fantastic table!”
What’s next?
“I’ll be up against Shahyan Razmi next. He’s playing great and even beat Arun Agrawal. But my focus is to stick to my game—and as you say, to the Top, with the Drop, and never stop!”
As Parikh continues his sublime form, the Top 8 are set to battle it out. By tomorrow at 3 PM, we’ll witness the crowning of the ultimate champion in billiards!
