At just 13 years old, Pune’s Aarav Sancheti has carved a place for himself among Maharashtra’s elite, advancing to the Top 24 of the BSAM presents Malabar Hill Club State Ranking Tournament ‘24.
A Gritty Group Stage Performance:
The youngest contender in the tournament displayed remarkable skill and poise in Group L, finishing as the runner-up behind Gaurav Deshmukh. Aarav’s only loss came in a hard-fought 2-3 thriller against his citymate Gaurav, where he initially led 2-0 before a narrow defeat.
Aarav bounced back with dominant victories over Nagpur’s Anshul Tandekar (3-0) and Mumbai’s Aakash Ramteke (3-1), proving his mettle against seasoned players.
A Rising Star:
Already a double crown winner in the sub-junior category, with titles in both billiards and snooker, Aarav narrowly missed the Junior Snooker crown, finishing second to Shahyan Razmi. Despite his youth, Aarav’s determination and talent make him a formidable challenger as he faces senior competitors in the knockout rounds.
