National Champion Dhruv Sitwala is in top form, showcasing his exceptional skill at the Chembur Gymkhana presents Mumbai Ladu Samrat – Om Agrawal Open Handicap Billiards Tournament 2024.
Just six months after clinching his maiden Billiards National Title, the twice Asian Champion has delivered scintillating performances in his two Chembur Gymkhana encounters. In his first game against Pranav Desai, Sitwala scored an impressive 236 to ease to victory after a poor start.
He then switched gears to craft a meticulous 292, in Round 2 narrowly missing the triple-century mark by only 8 points. Having crossed the baulkline at around 281, Sitwala’s mammoth break ended with a challenging long rest – pull back cannon on the top table after a missed conversion from a drop cannon. “I had to play a screw back off the red to get the cannon with a long rest but couldn’t time the ball, resulting in a heavy contact and a stop ball. I was aiming to cross the 300 mark with the challenging baulkline rule, but I still have another chance to better the score,” remarked a delighted Sitwala after his dominating victory against Anant Mehta which included a 236 and a 193.
Dhruv Sitwala epitomizes hard work and dedication, and his controlled, brilliant craftsmanship is a delight to all who watch him in action.
Facing the winner of the Vishal Madan and Shekhar Surve match, the Top 8 lineup is set for the ongoing Chembur Gymkhana presents Mumbai Ladu Samrat – Om Agrawal Open Handicap Billiards Tournament 2024.
