In a thrilling Semi Final between Ajinkya Yelve and Rajesh Mayavanshi of the Bathija’s PJHG 6 Red Snooker Markers Tournament 2023, Rajesh came back from the dead to snatch victory from his worthy rival.
Trailing 0-3, Rajesh struck back to take the 4th frame and survived elimination in the 6th frame when Yelve missed a long blue pot to give an end to his semi final tale.
However, the blue miss proved too fatal for Ajinkya as Rajesh took form at the right time in the decider to strike a 30 break and instantaneously switched to a defensive style of play to keep Ajinkya out of the game needing a snooker and maintain the pressure on his young rival.
Adding more twists to the Semi Final, Ajinkya came back in the game giving one snooker on the colour balls and had his chances to break his Semi Final barrier only to see himself miss the blue again to award the frame and match to Rajesh.
This is Rajesh’s maiden finale and could have been the same for Ajinkya after his three Semi Final appearances in the past.
