Vishal Madan showcased his dominance on the baize as he secured a spot in the semi finals of the MG Open Break Billiards Tournament 2024 after a commanding victory over Raajeev Sharma.
Playing with a revised handicap break of 76, Madan wasted no time in asserting his dominance, firing an impressive break of 98 right out of the gate. His exceptional performance included a stroke of luck on 72, which he skillfully converted into an advantage with a long pot and an in-off, propelling him to a lead of 22 points in the first half of the game.
Despite Sharma’s attempts to stage a comeback in the second half, Madan’s formidable gameplay proved too much to overcome. Sharma struggled to break throug with his new handicap of 62, leaving him unable to score in the Top 8 clash.
With the match unfolding as a one-sided affair, Madan confidently secured his place in the Top 4. He now awaits the winner of the clash between Devendra Joshi and Tathya Sachdev, with Devendra Joshi emerging as his opponent in the semi finals.
The tournament has been a great comeback stage for the former state champ, and the MG Open Ton Machine is certainly the man to watch out for.
