P J Hindu Gymkhana’s Hitesh Kotwani has risen from the dead to enter the Semi Final of the Matunga Gymkhana presents MG 6 Red Open Snooker Tournament 2023.
Trailing 0-3 to Nikhil Ghadge in the Top 16 encounter, Kotwani showed grit to make his way back into contention for the 50k prize money reward run as he stunned Ghadge with a remarkable 4-3 win.
Kotwani displayed a balance of crisp pots and good safety to get himself back in his rhythm and faced the ‘in form’ Umesh Barve in the Top 8 tie.
The Quarter Final was a contrast to what occurred in the previous round as Hitesh cultivated his chances to always be in the lead and increase the frame deficit.
Umesh showed signs of resurfacing but couldn’t match the flow of his opponent who knocked in a 40 and 39 break that kept him off the table.
Now aligning to play with Ajinkya Yelve, Kotwani gears up for his Semi Final Match and we should soon find out who brands himself as the Finalist of this war of the Second Rung.
