Juggling dual duties as both organiser and player, Kirit Rayani showed true composure under pressure as he edged past Sailesh Rao by a narrow 7-point margin to move into Round 2 of the Vijay Ved Memorial Open Handicap Billiards Tournament 2025.
While Sailesh produced a fine display with breaks of 39, 36, and 32, it was Rayani’s calm and calculated approach that turned the tide. Playing off a scratch handicap, the experienced cueist — and former club league champion — used every ounce of his match temperament to counter Sailesh’s rhythm and seal the game in style.
Next up, Rayani faces clubmate Pranav Desai in what promises to be a tactical clash on familiar turf.
