Devendra Joshi, a seasoned veteran with over three decades of experience in billiards, has made a remarkable comeback by reaching the semifinals of the MG Open Break Billiards Tournament 2024. His resurgence comes after his impressive performance in the 2019 Billiards National Championship, where he finished in the India Top 8 of India.
In a display of skill and experience, Joshi showcased his mastery on the table, defeating opponents silently just like his touch on the table. In the pre-quarters, he outplayed Dinesh Dhumal with a remarkable break of 130, followed by a victory over Tathya Sachdev with a break of 112 despite playing on a handicap break of 66.
Joshi demonstrated his expertise in his match against the talented Tathya, compiling another break of 79 to secure his spot in the semifinals. Despite Sachdev’s valiant efforts, including breaks of 45, 47, and 55, he was unable to halt Joshi’s progress.
With time running out and Sachdev struggling to match Joshi’s upscaling game, the seasoned cueist secured his place in the semifinals with a final score of 53-31.
The Sportal can only conclude after this stellar performance that
