Young Rushabh Gohil survived an exit from the Matunga Gymkhana presents MG 6 Red Open Snooker Tournament Round 2 encounter against Santacruz Gymkhana’s steady hands Amit Makhija.
Speeding to a 2-0 lead, Gohil was put to test by the Santacruz Veteran Makhija, who resurrected from the dead by making it 2 all to play a thrilling decider.
Makhija, known for his calm demeanor, was in command of the final frame needing only the final pink to change the fate of this match.
With Gohil needing both the pink and the black and the black ball relatively stuck on the top cushion, Makhija held the upper hand in this exchange of pots and safety.
An aggressive long pink pot attempt by Amit missed the pocket closely and the pink found its way to release the black while standing open to be potted by Rushabh giving the much needed opening to convert his only chance to seal the frame and match to which he succeeded relying on his technique and composure.
Gohil was relived off the pressure with a turn of tables victory and the MG 6 Red Open competition won’t be giving a second chance as the level of game gets tougher by the round.
