P.J. Hindu Gymkhana’s Milind Divekar etched his name in history, lifting the inaugural Vijay Ved Memorial Open Handicap Billiards Tournament 2025 title with a commanding win over the fancied Avenish Shah of MCF.
Calm yet aggressive, Milind dictated the pace right from the word go. With a solitary break of 30, the finale remained completely under his control, leaving little room for Avenish to regroup.
Despite Shah’s continued efforts to pull himself back into contention, Milind’s display of pure, traditional billiards proved far too strong to counter. His rhythm, precision, and discipline ensured there was no twist in the tale.
With this memorable triumph, Milind walked away with a ₹40,000 cash prize and the prestigious rolling trophy, while Avenish settled for ₹20,000 as the runner-up.
Reflecting on this monumental achievement, Milind shared emotions of winning a title of such significance after 24 long years since his introduction to the sport.
From a marker to a champion — what a journey, what a story.
The Sportal is proud to witness this remarkable feat firsthand while digitally powering this mega event.
