Islam Gymkhana’s Anwar Choudhary, has made his maiden appearance in a grand finale of an open event through the MG Open Break Billiards Tournament 2024.
Playing with handicap of 18, Baba did what he possibly could do the best to halt an experienced opponent in Vishal Gehani.
Sticking to his usual style of play, Baba held on to his basics, played to his limitations as he crafted a noteworthy 27 and a 20 to have an upper hand in the two hour format leading 11-2 after conceding a foul against Vishal.
An off color Gehani, couldn’t repeat his Quarter Final feat as he struggled to find his rhythm missing given opportunities and lacking the required ball control to make a come back.
The elated finalist now awaits his opponent in the winner of a mega semi final between Devendra Joshi and Vishal Madan, and Baba is already the talk of the tournament making him the people’s champion.
