Baba impresses, sets Semis clash with Gehani!

Anwar Choudhary, affectionately known as Baba, has emerged as the surprise element of the MG Open Break Billiards Tournament 2024, securing his place in the semifinals with a dominant performance.

In a quarterfinal showdown against young contender Sumer Mago, Baba showcased his mastery of the game, delivering a flawless performance that left his opponent trailing behind. The match unfolded as a one-sided affair, with Baba halting Mago’s run in the tournament with a resounding white-washing victory, ending the contest with a scoreline of 24-0.

Baba’s efforts were bolstered by impressive breaks of 35 and 27, executed with precision and finesse. With a revised handicap of 20, Baba surged ahead by 24 points after Mago committed a foul, firmly establishing his dominance on the baize.

Despite Mago’s valiant efforts to stage a comeback with a series of breaks in the 40s and 50s, he was unable to surpass his revised break of 64, ultimately conceding defeat and graciously settling for a place in the Top 8.

As he advances to the semifinals, anticipation mounts for what promises to be an exciting conclusion to the tournament, with Baba poised to continue his impressive run and vie for the ultimate title.
