Pankaj Advani, kicked off his CCI Snooker Classic campaign in style as he blanked Delhi’s Shoaib Khan 4-0 to set up a mouth-watering clash with his arch-rival – Aditya Mehta in the Pre-Quarter Finals. The last time either man graced the Sir Wilson Jones Billiards Room was almost four years ago, when Mehta prevailed over Advani 7-3 in the final to lift the trophy.
In a case of contrasting tales, Advani cruised to the finish line with a well-crafted 76 break in the third frame being the highlight of his performance. Meanwhile, Mehta survived a scare, being stretched to the decider against veteran cueist Monu Choudhary.
While Advani will seek to avenge his defeat in 2019, Mehta will look to continue his good run of form. Be that as it may, this promises to be one of the biggest matches of the year, and a treat for the fans.
