In a nail biting showdown at the CCI Snooker Classic 2024, R. Girish, representing Southern Railway and coming all the way from Coimbatore, showcased character to save himself from drowning against Nalin Patel in the final round of the Qualifying draw.
Initially trailing 3-1 as veteran Patel delivered consistent 30s and 40s, Girish shifted gears in the 5th frame, transforming into a rapid potting machine and swiftly equalizing the score to 3 all.
The tension peaked in the decider, where the former India Top 8 player, Girish, seized control and clinched victory with a commanding 40 break, securing his spot in the Top 64 draw after a hard-fought battle.
The final day of the Qualifying Draw is close to a conclusion and the main draw is all set to begin with the matches starting 10am onwards.
