The thrill of the time format was evidenced Saturday afternoon as Pankaj Advani, no introduction needed, defeated Loukic Pathare in stupendous fashion here at the Sir Wilson Jones Billiards Room at the Cricket Club of India.
With around 15 minutes to go, Advani, trailing by 148 points, kept his calm under pressure and fired an unfinished break of 276, delighting the packed crowd.
Taking no credit away from Loukic, who pushed Pankaj to dig out a golden goose with efforts of 156 and 131, both were seen in focus, maintaining a high standard of play throughout.
