In a jaw-dropping performance, Adit Raja delivered a commanding 4-0 victory against the formidable Hasan Badami, a 7-time state champion. What many expected to be a closely contested battle turned into a classic showdown at the BSAM presents Malabar Hill Club State Ranking Tournament ‘24.
“I’m very pleased with my performance today, especially against someone as accomplished as Hasan,” Adit said after the match. “He was the favorite, but I was ready to do whatever it took to win.”
The match’s defining moment came in the third frame. Hasan was in control, leading by 58 points with 67 remaining on the table. But Adit staged an incredible comeback, showcasing nerves of steel to snatch the frame and shift the momentum entirely in his favor.
Adit’s short-range potting proved superior, a key factor in his victory, as he consistently outplayed Hasan in close exchanges. Each frame saw Adit maintain his focus, capitalizing on every opportunity to secure an emphatic win.
“Registering a 4-0 victory against such a strong opponent has done wonders for my confidence,” Adit added. “I take nothing for granted, but I’m happy with where my game is and hope to carry this form in the coming game”
