Shahyan Razmi’s Narrow Win!

Shahyan Razmi’s Narrow Win!
Shahyan Razmi, the state’s senior snooker No. 2, was tested in his opening match against Nagpur’s Shlok Agrawal at the BSAM presents Malabar Hill Club State Ranking Tournament ‘24. The encounter turned out to be a thriller, culminating in a tense decider that showcased both players’ resilience and skill.
Razmi appeared composed early on, securing a 3-2 lead over his Nagpur rival. Shlok, fresh off a decider win in his previous match, looked confident and seemed to have adapted well to the crisp playing conditions. However, the southpaw from Cricket Club of India found himself under pressure as the match progressed. With Shlok leveling the score at 4-4, the stage was set for a gripping final frame.
In the decider, Shlok attempted an ambitious long red that rattled the jaws of the pocket, handing Razmi a crucial opening. While neither player managed significant breaks, Shahyan played steady snooker and held a slight edge. The final moments saw Razmi needing just the brown to clinch the victory. A loose safety by Shlok set up a clean shot, and Shahyan capitalized with precision to seal the frame and the match with a thrilling 5-4 victory.
The youngest Razmi now advances to face Khar Gymkhana’s Nikhil Saigal, who displayed dominant form in his 5-1 win over Anilkumar B S in Round 2.
