Shlok wins a thriller!
In the opening round of the BSAM presents Malabar Hill Club State Ranking Tournament 2024, Shlok Agrawal from Nagpur narrowly clinched victory with a 5-4 win over Marathwada’s Vallabh Vyawahare.
The match was a close battle, with both players alternating frame wins and maintaining intense pressure throughout. Down 4-3 and on the brink of elimination, Shlok fought back, digging deep to force a decider. Adapting to the challenging table conditions, he kept his cool in the high-stakes, 6 Red Challenge match.
The match turned after Vallabh’s ambitious long pot attempt fell short, opening a window for Shlok, who seized the opportunity with a crucial 32 break, establishing a lead and finally securing a well-earned win.
Reflecting on the hard-fought contest, Shlok said, “The match was tough, and we both played well. When he missed that long pot, I knew I had to respond decisively to get through. I’m glad I won, but this could have gone either way.”
Close encounters like this, along with whitewashes and upsets, underscore the intense level of competition that Maharashtra’s snooker scene fosters. Stay tuned for more updates as the tournament progresses at Malabar Hill Club.
