Dhumal causes upsets, ready for final qualifying clash!

In a thrilling upset at the prestigious MG Open Break Billiards Tournament 2024, Dinesh, Matunga Gymkhana’s Marker defied expectations as he faced off against home favorite Rushabh Jain and emerged victorious with a jaw-dropping personal best break of 40.

With an illustrious 21-year tenure serving the gymkhana, from his formative teenage years, he has been an integral part of the billiards department, soaking in knowledge and quietly honing his skills behind the scenes.

Facing the formidable Rushabh Jain, a favorite among the local crowd, Dinesh showcased composure as he played to his limitations.

Adding a few more significant breaks in the 90 minute clash, Dinesh caused the second upset after he ousted a seasoned Jignesh Thakkar in his round 1 encounter. He now moves to his final round against Prabdeep Singh to fight for his place in the Stage 2 of the MG Open Break Billiards Tournament 2024.

The lesser rung of players are already making headlines in the handicap format of the tournament, and it would be no surprise to see a qualifier making bigger upsets when the top guns arrive.

Stay tuned…Until then let’s #mgbreakopen
